The Alexis de Tocqueville Society

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society

Founded by United Way of America, the Alexis de Tocqueville Society honors the work of French philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville, who toured America in 1831 and wrote eloquently about the generosity and volunteerism that lives in the American heart.

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society recognizes the generosity of individuals and couples who contribute at the highest level of giving, with an annual investment of $10,000 or more. In 2010, contributions from this special group exceeded $1,024,000. These caring philanthropists demonstrate an outstanding commitment to improving the quality of life in our community.
