SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
Scouting prepares young men ages 7-20 and women ages 14-20 to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Character building, life skills, physical fitness and citizenship training are taught through a series of challenging outdoor activities, career development programs and sports. Outreach efforts are available to disadvantaged youth.

CATHOLIC FAMILY SERVICES
Serving people of all faiths since 1975. The ARK shelter for youth provides emergency housing and support services for homeless and runaway youth ages 10-17 and their families. The ARK Community Services provides assistance and support with housing, education and employment for homeless youth ages 16-21, helping them transition into independent adults. Caring Network helps pregnant women and teens deliver healthy babies and develop positive and healthy parenting and lifestyle behaviors. It provides housing support and assistance with material items. Bridges mental health counseling provides affordable mental health therapy to families and individuals of all ages. Baraga Manor, located in Otsego, provides safe and affordable housing for adults ages 62 and older.

COMMUNITY HEALING CENTERS
Community Healing Centers provide a full spectrum of services and outreach. Elizabeth Upjohn Community Healing Ctr., 2615 Stadium Dr. (343-1651) provides mental health outpatient psychological services; outpatient and intensive outpatient addiction treatment and prevention services, including specialized services for adolescents, health care professionals, dually diagnosed and families; early intervention for at-risk infants; consultation to schools, parenting groups, and child support advocates for child victims of sexual abuse.

The mission of ASK is to assist families and their children who have mood, emotional, and behavioral challenges to understand and navigate services, advocate effectively, and achieve their potential. GUARDIAN FINANCE & ADVOCACY SERVICES
“Safeguarding At-Risk Adults”, Guardian serves adults with limited skills who need help managing basic issues in life. Their limitations may be due to learning disabilities, agedness, medical issues, mental illness, etc. Due to their limitations, they are also vulnerable to exploitation by others, financially and physically. Services include coaching seniors on managing their money, teaching financial skills, managing individual SSA income, serving as trustee and power of attorney, and court appointed roles as guardian and conservator. We have 45 years of trusted service in Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties.

HOUSING RESOURCES, INC.
HRI is a leader in the fight against homelessness serving as Kalamazoo County’s primary clearinghouse for housing solutions. It offers a continuum of services including emergency shelter for homeless families with children, eviction prevention grants, housing search, temporary rental assistance and access to affordable housing units. HRI engages with area landlords and promotes positive tenant/landlord relations. HRI also links to a variety of community service supports to assist with non-housing related factors impacting housing stability such as employment.

Welcomes and serves any adult struggling with homelessness, poverty, mental illness and substance abuse in an atmosphere of dignity, hope and unconditional acceptance. The YWCA of Kalamazoo provides Kalamazoo County the only shelter and other services specifically designed for victims of domestic violence; services for adult sexual assault survivors including medical forensic exams in a non-hospital setting, supportive volunteers and counseling; one of few licensed and nationally accredited child care centers that offers scholarships and accepts government subsidies; a unique and volunteer-intensive mentoring program for adult and teen women seeking economic self-sufficiency; and services to the community-at-large, focusing on racial justice and women’s economic empowerment.

HOSPICE CARE OF SouthWest Michigan
Care for individuals of any age in the advanced stages of illness. Support for caregivers. Services include physician and nursing care, personal care, emotional and spiritual support, volunteer assistance and grief support. Community grief support programs for adults, children, and teens. Care in the client’s home, in nursing facilities or Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, which provides 24 hour residential and in-patient care in 18 private rooms. Adult Day Services at Oakland Centre serves adults 60 years and older who need assistance or supervision during the day. On-going caregiver support is offered.

HISPANIC AMERICAN COUNCIL, INC.
The Hispanic American Council serves the Hispanic community in Southwestern Michigan by providing services and programs, fostering self-sufficiency and promoting its diverse cultural heritage by encouraging relationships with the broader community. As a liaison between potential clients and service agencies, the Council seeks to meet the needs of a special population often hindered by language barriers, cultural differences, and unfamiliarity with service agencies and institutions. The Council provides bilingual support to integrate Hispanics into their communities, interpretation services for organizations unable to serve Spanish speakers, a family reading program, English as a Second Language and Spanish Literacy classes, and other services that engage the Hispanic and larger communities.
